It’s been two weeks now, and Apple’s has just released another iOS 5 beta build. Those of you that have Apple developer credentials can now go on over to the source link below the post, and get your hands on iOS 5 beta 6.
Kodawarisan, a Japanese web site, is reporting that Apple’s Fall Event, which in the past years was focused on iPods but will likely include the iPhone 5 announcement this year, is scheduled for Wednesday Sepetember 7th, 2011. The rumored date does make sense referring to previous years.
Apple is simplifying the design of its iconic Fifth Ave Retail Store by using only 15 pieces of glass instead of 90. In mid-June, Apple began work on their $7 million renovation of its Manhattan store. Recently, Apple has revealed its plans for location by posting an informational sign on the barrier surrounding the plaza that reads, “We’re simplifying the Fifth Avenue cube. By using larger, seamless pieces of glass, we’re using just 15 panes instead of 90.”
Apple is planning a major update to the Apple Store dubbed Apple Store 2.0, according to an anonymous 9to5Mac source.
Steve Jobs, Jonathon Ive and Senior VP of Retail Rob Johnson are said to have led the development of this major makeover for the Apple retail experience.
Some of the said changes include:
● New dedicated personal setup areas called “Startup Sessions”
● Paper signage next to Macs and many products will be replaced with interactive iPads.
● Beefed up displays described as “huge”
● Brand-new sound systems
● New Apple Store iOS application (possibly on Sunday) that is more interactive and will be able to detect if you are in an Apple Store to assist you better.
● New store or window displays
Earlier today AppleInsider reported that iPad’s would play a major role in the new Apple Store experience.
