Wii U landing after April 1st 2012
Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America, recently sat down with David M. Ewalt at Forbes to talk about the company’s upcoming console. the original Wii won’t be disappearing immediately. The two will be sold side by side in stores for at least a little while. Turns out there is nothing technically stopping the console from streaming other media to the portable screen — including content from your Netflix account. Sadly, you’ll be waiting till at least Q2 of 2012 to pick one up — the next-gen gaming device won’t launch until “after April 1st.”
Super 8 Movie (Our take on the movie)
Super would be an understatement.
Though, I should start off by saying that for about 45 minutes, you really have no clue of what’s going on. Once the action truly begins and riveting thrill sequences intensify, even if you have to use the bathroom, there’s no leaving.
J.J Abrams, director of the movie, well known for being the mind behind LOST and 09’s adaption of Star Trek, stopped at nothing to make this film the best of the summer, maybe even the best of the year.
Steven Spielberg, producer, must have also shared countless ideas seeing that the movie is so closely related to ET, Close Encounters, and Goonies.
As for the actors, we see some familiar faces: Kyle Chandler who we’ve seen in King Kong and The Day the earth stood still. Lovely Elle Fanning from Deja Vu, Phoebe in Wonderland, and Because of Winn-Dixie when she was just little girl. Joel Courtney makes his fortunate debut and I assure you, you will see more of him in the future.
Acting was superb. There was never a point in this movie where I said to myself that the actors had been poorly chosen. Quite the contrary; flawless, for lack of a better word.
Super 8 takes place in 1979. A group of young kids, a motherless son, a pyro, an ambitious movie director, a young girl and four others head out to a train station to film a scene for their zombie movie. They encounter a train wreck in which a very mysterious creature survives.
One of the most interesting train scenes, guaranteed.
This movie was heart-touching, intense, dramatic and at sometimes even scary. Chances are that you won’t be disappointed.
New Release cinema gives this movie a super 8 out of ten.
